40th Birthday Party Celebration Video Slideshows Intro

Many people celebrate their birthday by either having a birthday party or having a birthday party celebration by going out with family and friends.

People are also more likely to celebrate when they reach a landmark birthday like a 16th, 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 65th, 70th, 80th, 90th and 100th birthday.

A friend of mine, Nicola, was going out to celebrate her 40th birthday with a meal at a restaurant and a local disco in town afterwards and I was invited.

I wanted to give her a 40th birthday gift she would appreciate and look back at in future times to remember the celebration of her 40th birthday party celebration with fondness.

My immediate thought was to record the events of the evening with photos and video clips and turning it into a 40th birthday party celebration video slideshow.

I of course used the Animoto Video Slideshow Maker to make the birthday gift memento.

Example Of A 40th Birthday Party Celebration Video Slideshow

The following video slideshow entitled 40th Birthday Party Celebration Video! Create A Video Slideshow Gift Memento! is the result I produced using Animoto. I did not plan the length of 40th Birthday Party Celebration Video! Create A Video Slideshow Gift Memento! but it is about 4 minutes 50 seconds long. Instead, I used as much decent material as I could then I chose a suitable music track to roughly match the material.

Making The 40th Birthday Party Celebration Video Slideshow

After taking part in the birthday party celebration and taking quite a few photos and video clips I set to work on making a video slideshow gift memento for Nicola. I created the birthday party celebration video with the Animoto Video Slideshow Maker. Before using Animoto I organized my material on my computer and planned how to present it as follows:

1. First of all, after making a backup copy of all my material from the birthday party celebration I went through my working copy deleting any poor quality material. I left all the photos and video clips in the chronological sequence of the evening, flowing naturally as we went from restaurant to disco;
2. Next I contemplated the style of the video and how to use the photos and video clips in the video slideshow. I decided to combine my photos and video clips with some out of the Image and Video Clip Libraries of Animoto. The Animoto material I selected was:
   • A sequence to start the video slideshow:
     • A video clip of flashing lights;
     • A video clip of fireworks;
     • An image saying happy birthday;
   • I also followed the starting sequence with a video clip of champagne glasses in hands after a text message;
   • I ended the video slideshow with an image of a cake with candles and balloons, etc;
3. I also decided to add some personal messages before some of the images and video clips chosen from the Animoto libraries and my own photos:
   • Nicola Meachum, you made the big 40! – To go before the champagne glasses video clip;
   • Jimmy Spice, Bring on the food! – To to introduce the images and video clips from the restaurant;
   • 40, you don’t look it! – To go before some images of Nicola to complement the fact that she does not look as old as 40;
   • Food! Let’s eat! – To go before images of us sitting at the dining table;
   • Dave! What are you doing to Ros? – To go before an image of Dave looking at Ros’s posterior while she is reaching under the table;
   • Pudding! I think I have room! – To go before an image of a dessert selection;
   • Dancing! Can’t you wait for the disco? – To go before an image and video clip of our friend John dancing with Nicola in the restaurant;
   • Disco! Let’s Party! John & Ros on the pole! – To go before images of John and Ros on the dance pole;
   • Ceroc! Ros & Richard! – To go before images of Ros and Richard (that’s me) Ceroc dancing;
   • Food! Too much in my belly! – To go before an image of Richard (me again) leaning back with a full stomach;
   • Night Night Nicola! Hope you’re ok in the morning! – To go before the final image of the cake with candles and balloons, etc;

After I completed the planning stage for the birthday party celebration video I began to create it with the Animoto Video Slideshow Maker internet based service:

1. I arranged and numbered the photos and video clips from the birthday party celebration on my computer;
2. Then I designed my video slideshow:
   • I chose the “The Animoto Original” template style for the video slideshow (I could select a different one later if it did not work well);
   • Next I uploaded the material from my computer to Animoto on the internet;
   • I then added the Animoto Library images and video clips that I planned;
   • Next I positioned the text boxes I planned and entered the text messages;
3. To finish, I selected a nice music track for a birthday party celebration (Beautiful Day by Ryan Huston) from the Music Library of Animoto; set the pacing of the images for the video slideshow to normal; typed in a title and description for the video slideshow; then clicked the “Create Video” button to make the video slideshow;

Not long after that I had a great Animoto video slideshow entitled 40th Birthday Party Celebration Video! Create A Video Slideshow Gift Memento! which was rendered and ready for distribution.

However, I decide that I wanted to present the 40th birthday party celebration video in person to Nicola as a physical DVD. In order to do this I generated higher resolution versions of the video slideshow which took a little longer to render. Once ready, I downloaded the higher resolution version and burned it to a DVD on my computer. I then presented the 40th birthday party celebration video to Nicola as a belated birthday present the next time we met!

Note: I can render higher resolution video slideshows any time I want as a have a commercial Animoto Pro Account. However, those people with an Animoto Plus Account, which is usually used by people for everyday non-commercial purposes, can pay a small fee to get higher resolution versions of their video slideshows as and when they so desire on an individual basis.
