Summer Ball Party Video Slideshow Intro

I love to go to parties and balls and each year I go to several.
One I look forward to the most is the Summer Ball, especially if the weather is good.
Each year many organizations hold a summer ball from companies to charities and schools and it’s a fabulous opportunity to dress up in your finest.
Men usually dress up in a tuxedo, also known as a dinner jacket (DJ) whilst women usually wear a ball gown.
Ladies, if you like to dance make sure you can dance in whatever you wear.
For lots of ladies it’s a great excuse to buy a new ball gown or summer outfit.
A Summer Ball, or any other ball for that matter, is a great way to share an enjoyable meal with friends and have a good time together on the dance floor.

Example Of A Summer Ball Party Video Slideshow
Summer Ball Party Video Slideshow! Summer Ball Gowns For Women! Tuxedos For Men is a video slideshow made with the Animoto online service. It is a series of photos and video clips which show the evening proceedings of a Summer Ball party with SPICE West Midlands in 2010 based at The Belfry at Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands. I took most of the photos and video clips. A few with me in them were taken by friends. A summer ball to me is a time of style and elegance so to compliment the theme of the evening I chose some jazz music for the video slideshow background music. A few people wore brightly coloured wigs on the night to stand out and add a little SPICE to the evening. The Summer Ball Party video slideshow below is what I created.
Summer Ball Party Video Slideshow! Summer Ball Gowns For Women! Tuxedos For Men was made to show the proceedings of the evening to my mother, family and friends. I also made it as a permanent piece of memorabilia for myself so that I can look back at it in future years when I’m too old to party! LOL.
Although the length of this video slideshow was not really important, I wanted to show sufficient photos and clips of the evening and it came out at 8 minutes 15 second using the Animoto Video Slideshow Maker.

Making The Summer Ball Party Video Slideshow
Video slideshow planning comprised of organizing my material on my PC and some time to come up with text captions to go along with a number of the photo and video clips.
It is very easy to rearrange and organize material within the Animoto interface so it is not necessary to organize material before uploading to Animoto. However, I prefer to organize my material on my PC before uploading so I have a permanent record of the video slideshow sequence and in case I want to use them for other purposes such as photo albums.
As my photos and video clips came from more than one source, that is, some were provided by friends, I had to integrate them into the natural sequence of the evening. To facilitate this ordering I renamed and numbered the files of all my material before upload so that it was in the correct order after upload. Once uploaded to Animoto I typed in these captions at the appropriate positions in the Animoto visual storyboard type interface:
- Richard Griffin, www.VideoSlideshowSite.com – promotional text;
- Summer Ball 2010 with SPICE – Pre-ball drinks! – intro text;
- Outside The Belfry;
- In the reception area;
- An art exhibition;
- The lonely dining room awaits us;
- Time to sit down, Our table – lucky 13?;
- Disco about to begin, Chessboard to dance on!;
- The band take a break;
- Clearing away! We had a good time!;
- Goodnight from me!;
- Richard Griffin, www.VideoSlideshowSite.com – promotional text;
A summer ball to me is a time of style and elegance. To add a bit of style I used a vintage type countdown clip at the start and used a jazz track as the sound track. To make this video slideshow with the Animoto Video Slideshow Maker I did the following:
- Working on my computer, I organized the photos and video clips and deleted any of them that were of a low quality;
- Animoto design/configuration:
- I used the “Original” Animoto style template to give some fancy transitions;
- I uploaded my material to Animoto;
- I added a countdown video clip at the beginning of the video slideshow from Animoto’s video clip library;
- I added a video clip of people rushing around at the end of the video slideshow from Animoto’s video clip library. This represents returning to the chaos of society!;
- Using the spotlight function I emphasised some photos That I wanted to be displayed longer and have a fancy transition;
- I typed in my text captions just before the appropriate photos or video clips;
- To complete the video slideshow I: chose “Blowin’ In From Chicago” by Hank Hirsh as the music track to use from the Jazz genre of the Animoto music library; chose the faster pace option to ensure all to material would be displayed within the length of the music track; entered a title plus description and then clicked the “Create Video” button;
After about 5 minutes Animoto emailed me to say my low resolution video slideshow of Summer Ball Party Video Slideshow! Summer Ball Gowns For Women! Tuxedos For Men! was ready. After watching the low resolution version and checking that everything was OK I generated high resolution versions.
My commercial Animoto Pro licence lets me produce as many high resolution versions as I like. Once the high resolution versions were completed I downloaded them to my PC. Next I uploaded the high resolution version to my YouTube account. I also downloaded an ISO file which enabled me to burn a DVD from my PC simply by double clicking on it.
